The Joe O'Blenis Mackenzie Marathon bent shaft, named for the explorer Alexander Mackenzie and the Mackenzie River (longest river in Canada), is designed for modern style canoeing and works best with a “Sit and Switch” paddling style. Built of western red cedar and other select softwoods, both blade faces are then sheathed in a lightweight fiberglass cloth with epoxy resin for strength and durability. The perfect paddle to eat up the miles, whether racing or on an extended expedition.
Average weight is a mere 16 to 19 ounces. Each paddle is finished with 4-5 coats of marine spar varnish. Blade size is 20” by 7.75”
Available in lengths from 47” to 54”.
The Mackenzie Marathon sells for a total of $175 and includes shipping to most Canadian destinations.
