With the Fall season here,I'm now able to free up some time to work on some projects in the shop and will have some new items coming up soon.
2-Piece take-apart Greenland Paddles will be available on a regular basis as soon as I finish up the first batch which are already pre sold. Prices to be announced shortly.
Another project underway is a new series of Outrigger Canoe Paddles. These will be made available in an all wood version with a 12-14 degree bent shaft as well as a hybrid version featuring a laminated wood shaft with composite blades.
Carbon fiber Greenland Paddles are still scheduled to be ready for Spring 2010. The Rolling Sticks, recently introduced, have been going well with sales in Canada, the USA and South America thus far. Carbon fiber Rolling Sticks/ Norsaqs will be coming up within 2 months I suspect.
Also paddle related, British sea kayaking magazine Ocean Paddler will have a review out in their next issue on O'Blenis Greenland Paddles!
The fastest growing segment in paddlesports these days is Stand Up Paddleboarding, commonly referred to as "SUP". I'll be doing a writeup on this shortly and posting it to the website. Come Spring I'll be introducing paddles for this exciting new segment as well. Also looking at design ideas for the boards themselves. Stay tuned for more!

In other paddle news, troubled paddle company Lendal, once a premium line out of the UK for sea kayaking and whitewater paddles, is about to be resurrected. After being sold to Johnson Outdoors a couple years back (Parent company of Necky Kayak, Old Town Canoes etc), quality dropped right off and the company was pretty much destroyed. Rumours have been circulation about the pending sale of Lendal Paddles and the latest rumours have been that either Nigel Dennis or Epic would be the buyer.
Well guess what folks? It ain't Epic! I just emailed Nigel this morning (October 29th) and he confirmed it. Seakayakinguk (Nigel Dennis) does in fact appear to be buying Lendal Paddles!!
Congratulations Nigel, great news!

Any special sale pricing or paddles marked down for cosmetic imperfections will be posted here as well as they become available.

Bent Shaft Canoe Paddles are now available. My paddles are generally built in a similar fashion to what I used when setting a speed record in 2007 for circumnavigation British Columbia's Vancouver Island, shattering the old record by nearly 5 days, cmpleting the 1200 kilometer expedition in just over 23 days! Built of western red cedar and other select pieces of wood, I offer paddles between 210cm and 225 cm. in length(Shorter for kids paddles and Storm Paddles).
I design my paddles to be lightweight with just the right amount of flex but enough stiffness for a high cruising speed and good acceleration. Nicely shaped tips for a comfortable hand position for extended paddle strokes and for rolling, these tips also enter the water nicely due to their thin ends and rounded edges, making for a fast, efficient forward stroke.
See below for a few photos of some of my paddles and various different finishes.
